Stardew Valley
Star Fruit vs Ancient Fruit Profit Generator
What is this?
This tool compares the profits between
- a Star Fruit farm, where seeds are replanted after every plant bears fruit,
- and an Ancient Fruit farm, where we start with a single Ancient Fruit seed and use the Seed Maker to create an Ancient Fruit farm with the same number of plants as the Star Fruit farm.
We assume the player always has enough kegs to turn every fruit into wine. We assume the player ages all wine into iridium-quality wine with a cask unless every cask is occupied, in which case the wine is sold immediately.
The number of plants in your farm. For Star Fruit, this is the
number of plants growing at any given time. For Ancient Fruit, we
start with a single Ancient Seed. Every fruit born will be
provided to the seed maker to create more Ancient Fruit plants
until the given number of plants is reached. After this point, all
Ancient Fruits will then be made into wine.
The number of casks in the cellar. Note that it is physically
impossible to have more than 189 casks in a single cellar.
The number of days to compute profits. This will determine the
range of the x-axis in the plot.
Number of simulations to perform for Ancient Fruit. Since the
results from the seed maker are random, there will be variation in
the number of days it takes to turn one seed into a full Ancient
Fruit farm. The results shown in the plot for Ancient Fruit will
be the average profits accumulated up to that day.
Profession:
The Artisan profession increases wine profits by 40%. The
Agricultural profession increases the rate at which crops grow
by 10%. Note that the Agricultural profession only increases the
rate at which Ancient Fruit grow before they bear their first
fruit. All reharvested Ancient Fruit grow at their ordinary rate
even with the Agricultural profession.
Fertilizer:
Deluxe Speed Gro and Hyper Speed Gro increase the rate at which
crops grow by 25% and 33%, respectively. Note that fertilizers
only increase the rate at which Ancient Fruit grow before they
bear their first fruit. All reharvested Ancient Fruit grow at
their ordinary rate even with fertilizer.
